No one likes a bumpy, uncomfortable ride. That's why you've got to put a premium on your vehicle's suspension system. If you're after maximum comfort, then you should be mindful of the early signs of suspension troubles. One problem that comes every five or even ten years in a vehicle's life, assuming that the vehicle is normally driven in city traffic, is wear and tear of the struts. Usually, all it takes to solve that problem is replacement of the strut insert located inside. Yes, the insert itself can be replaced. All you have to do is drill the top end of the strut and draining the lubricating oil out. And then, you proceed to drilling the top end off and pulling out every single components found inside. You should be left with an empty cylinder where you'll be inserting the replacement strut insert. Drill a hole at the bottom of the cylinder because that's where the bolt that holds the new insert goes in. Go easy on your car's freshly-repaired struts. The strut insert has to be broken in until it is warmed up to normal operating temperatures and becomes fully lubricated. Riding comfort should be back to normal in a few days of long driving. You'll find quality inserts right here at Car Stuff.
