Overheating is among the major problems of every driver especially when it happens in the middle of the road. This situation could be due to an intermittent water pump. Some water pumps are rotary dynamic and uses a rotating component called the impeller which causes the coolant to rotate. With this force, the fluid rotates with its momentum. The force drives the coolant out of the pump while it spins and the same is drawn from the center. Through its rotation, the fluid goes back from the radiator and hit the pump vanes. Then, the vanes move the fluid out of the pump where it can enter into the engine. At that point the fluid flows into different engine components such as engine block, cylinder head, radiator and finally returning to the pump to be cooled again. With this function, the water pump and its components must be in good working condition. And if this is damaged, you need to replace it immediately in order not to suffer from overheating. This is easy as there are many brands of water pump in the market, such as the Scion water pump. Detecting any damage in the water pump is a better way of avoiding much repair bills due to damaged engine components.
