Who wouldn't want to drive in comfort? Automobile manufacturers see this need that's why they came up with power steering vehicles. Today, no one has to wrestle with the steering wheel to make a sharp turn in the next curb. All it takes is a properly working power steering pump to take advantage of the vehicle's steering power. This modern steering system is comprised of a power steering pump driven by a pulley, a rotary valve, and a steering gear or box. These parts replaced the simple but equally efficient rack and pinion configuration on non-power steering vehicles. In this new system, the rotary valve senses the slightest turn you make on the steering wheel and readily provides assist. The valve, in turn, needs the hydraulic force from the pump for its functions. This requires a sufficient amount of steering fluid in the reservoir. A depleted reservoir contributes to the premature damage of the power steering pump. Also, normal wear and pressure affect the performance of this pump. Without this component, the rotary valve won't receive the hydraulic energy it needs to perform its safety functions. So, at the first sign of failure, have the pump repaired. If it's not possible anymore, then get a replacement-something we can help you with. Because at Car Stuff, the auto parts that you need are always in stock and offered at good prices.
