"Companies do not create products, deliver services, and solve problems, people do". A quote from Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn who believes that their best assets are the people they have behind the cars, the teams behind the technology, the minds behind the engines they build. Ensuring safety standards and better car performance, the people at Nissan have made it their business to serve the best interests of drivers everywhere. With that in mind, this top Japanese car company produces cars with Nissan parts that ensure top-notch performance capable of lasting for a long time.
Kenjiro Den, Rokuro Aoyama, and Meitaro Takeichi began the history of Nissan when they created the DAT Motorcar Co. in 1914. It was a slow start-the company built passenger cars but really focused more on trucks because the demand for passenger cars in Japan during that time was low. Den, Aoyama, and Takeuchi decided to merge DAT Motorcar with Jitsuyo Motors, another truck company, to widen their share of the truck market. In 1934, Yoshisuke Aikawa, owner of then Tobata Casting Co., Ltd, bought the Jitsuyo, and combined his Tobata Casting company to finally form Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. And this was the start of production for Nissan auto mobiles and Nissan car parts, an example of which were the small-sized Datsun passenger cars. During World War II, Nissan decided to aid the government using Nissan parts to build airplane engines and trucks for the Japanese military, forcing their laborers to work more hours in the assembly line. After the war, Nissan refocused its attention to producing passenger cars, civilian trucks, and Nissan auto parts in 1947. But Nissan was really in a tight state after the war, and they needed a way to get back on their feet. So they retained the strict management rules the company enforced during the war, believing this would fast-track the company onto the path to recovery. However, all this led to were constant labor-management clashes during Nissan's recovery years. Finally in 1953, a prolonged 100-day strike finally succeeded in bringing about a new management system, one that emphasized mutual trust. And from then on, it was almost a smooth ride towards success.
Today, Nissan invests in its people to create the world's best cars and Nissan parts. That's why in addition to manufacturing premium products, Nissan has also upped their management functions by localizing research and development operations, including Nissan auto parts engineering and vehicle design. By establishing regional headquarters in North America and Europe, Nissan will be able to rely more on the power of their own people to aid in Nissan car parts development and manufacturing. With that, Nissan continues to top the ranks in terms of top-of-the-line car manufacturing.
