Keep enjoying that powerful ride of your Lincoln by checking and replacing your Lincoln shocks regularly. Failure to do so can result in damage to your Lincoln suspension system, such as the ball joints, steering linkage, and springs. In particular, when the shock absorbers get worn, they allow the wheels to bounce, which results in poor tire-to-road contact, vibrations, reduced braking performance and increased noise. Your Lincoln shocks are vital to the safety of your passengers as well. Tired shocks will prematurely wear out your tires and increase the odds of aquaplaning in the rain. Check your Lincoln shocks every 12,000 miles or so for signs of wear and tear. The easiest test is simply bouncing up and down on your front or rear bumper. If your car continues bouncing even after you move your hand away, then it is time to replace your Lincoln shocks. Start first by checking to see if you have the proper toolset for the job: deep/ shallow 1/2 or 3/8 socket set, box and open-end wrench set, lug wrench, hammer, pliers, and torque wrench, hydraulic jack, two safety support stands and four wood or concrete blocks. Then, order your Lincoln shocks from here and start on the job.
