During the combustion process, a perfect fuel and air mixture is required in order to produce enough amount of power needed in the entire system. Insufficient amount of fuel in the mixture tends to create a vibration or a 'knocking' effect. When 'knocking' is continuously observed, there is greater possibility of affecting the drivability condition of the vehicle. Generating the power somewhat becomes difficult. But why does this 'knocking' effect really happens? Well, this occurs because of faulty wiring connection in the circuit or if your Jaguar knock sensor itself is defective. In addition, if there is inadequate amount of fuel; expect an effect of vibration from the engine. Now, as the engine vibrates because of the unevenly distributed fuel, the ceramic rods tend to vibrate too. This disturbs the magnetic filed coil changing the current that passes through this. This is the reason why a knock sensor exists. It monitors this insufficient amount of fuel to be burned. It consists of an electric coil that is attached between a pair of ceramic rods with a magnet in its middle. It then sends these data to the computer. In that case, the computer analyzes this condition at the same time evaluate if this effect causes the knocking sensation of the engine. If you recognize deficiency with your Jaguar knock sensor, immediately replace it to prevent occurrence of serious trouble. You will find the widest selection of knock sensors right here.
