Your fun and sporty Isuzu is fun to drive, and economical - so save yourself some major repair bills and safety hazards by checking your Isuzu shocks regularly. What is the job of your Isuzu shocks? They manage the movement of the suspension system, and the action of the springs in particular. Your Isuzu shocks maintain stability of the chassis and body even when bumps and dips in the road will leave the wheels pumping up and down. Shock absorbers are designed to absorb and control the vertical movement of your vehicle's springs. Your Isuzu shocks are made of the following components: Assembly brackets, shock absorber fixations, spring seats, outer tube bottom, rod guides, valves and support ring. Shock absorbers usually fall into two types: gas-charged and conventional. It is recommended that you test your shocks every 12,000 miles or so for signs of wear. Sometimes simple observation is enough to spot a problem with your shocks. Does the car roll or sway when you turn? Does the front end dive when you brake, or the read end squat when you accelerate? Test the shocks by bouncing the car up and down. The car should stop bouncing as soon as you stop moving your hand against the bumper. All these are signs that it's time to replace your Isuzu shocks.
