Take the time to figure out what has damaged your radiator. First, check to see if coolant fluid is flowing freely in the radiator. You can do that by turning on the engine, removing the radiator cap and peeking inside. You should be able to see some kind of fluid there. If not, the radiator might be blocked by corrosion, which is a common result of neglecting to flush and change the coolant regularly. You might find deposits of white gunk in the plastic tank, which means that steam (instead of coolant) has been flowing into the radiator. The cause might be a faulty thermostat or leak. Sometimes radiators will form a leak when pressure in the coolant system runs at high levels.
