You can never escape technology. And why should you? Cars are much more efficient now than they were ever before, thanks to powertrain control module (PCM) technology. The PCM takes care of all engine functions to keep it running efficiently while producing optimum power. So if you're driving a vintage or a classic and it's hurting your budget, why don't you try upgrading the engine with a PCM? You're going to need a PCM, several sensors, and an engine wiring harness. It just like hooking up your engine to a brain via a central nervous system. Okay, so it may not sound easy. But there are professionals who do it on a daily basis. As long as you have the right parts, they'll be happy to do it for you-for a fee, of course. Say goodbye to your inefficient carburetor because it's going to be replaced with an electronic fuel injection system. Even the radiator fan will be replaced with an electronic unit. And then there's the multitude of sensors and switches, all connected to the PCM via the engine wiring harness. So make sure you a high-quality wiring harness for the engine. Otherwise, it'll be like walking with a broken spine. Again, it's not entirely rocket science. But it's not an entirely DIY process, either. Just make sure you have all the necessities, and a sturdy, long-lasting engine wiring harness. Just visit Car Stuff and we'll hook you up with the right harness for your car.
