As the crankshaft of the Eagle engine turns, it drives a set of Eagle pulleys, which transfer the force needed to run items like the alternator through a belt, or a series of belts. These Eagle pulleys must endure constant, high-speed rotation and heat from the engine in order to operate effectively. They must also have a good amount of lubrication to prevent damage from friction. Some Eagle pulleys have grease fittings on them, to allow for lubrication, and the rest are sealed units with the needed oil or grease permanently kept inside. When the belts of the vehicle are replaced, the attached Eagle pulleys should be checked for uninhibited motion. If one of these does not turn freely, it should be greased, if possible. If not, new Eagle pulleys will be included with the components they are attached to, as they soon will fail because of the increased friction. For certain parts, such as some alternators, waiting for failure may not be necessary. New Eagle pulleys may be available for some components, and our vast online catalog will have them for most Eagle models. Because our parts meet all of the specifications of the original ones, the installation will be straightforward. The first step in replacing the Eagle pulleys would be to remove the belts attached to them. On many newer cars, this is as simple as rotating the spring-loaded idler pulley for the serpentine belt, but on other vehicles, it may be necessary to loosen the adjustment bolts for the components that the Eagle pulleys are attached to. Then remove the fastening nut or nuts that the individual Eagle pulleys are held on with, and reverse the process after the new parts are on. With our easy online ordering and our 24-hour toll-free telephone number, you can have any of the Eagle pulleys you need quickly on their way.
