It's a bummer when anything breaks on your Talon or Premier, but it's particularly annoying when it's something like the climate control or, more specifically, the Eagle heater core that goes out on you. After all, you can still get around, but it's no fun driving with mittens and a heavy coat everywhere you go during the winter. A bad Eagle heater core can be more than just an annoyance, though. You may not be able to see it, but a leaking Eagle heater core is slowly dripping, spraying, or pouring water and antifreeze into your interior. Sometimes the leak from your Eagle heater core is so minor that you never even notice the moisture. The problem is that the coolant will find its way onto your floors where it can ruin your carpeting, or worse, rust through the steel floorpans. Strange electrical gremlins can also result from an Eagle heater core leak dripping onto wiring and connectors. Oftentimes, an Eagle heater core problem will be the first sign that all is not well within your car's cooling system. See, the Eagle heater core taps into the flow of hot coolant that keeps your engine at the proper temperature and uses that coolant to warm the interior of your car. If the Eagle heater core is beginning to corrode and fail, there's a good chance that your car's radiator isn't doing so hot either. In other words, your Eagle heater core may give up the ghost to let you know that it's time to change the antifreeze in your Talon before things get any worse. So cast off the gloves and replace that Eagle heater core. Then flush and refill your cooling system while you're in there. Not only will you stay toasty warm courtesy of your new Eagle heater core but your entire engine will run more efficiently with the maintenance you perform.
