Aston Martin is a famous brand even before it became James Bond's favorite ride. Started in Gaydon, Warwickshire, Aston Martin was the result of the partnership between Lionel Martin and Robert Bamford. Before the name Aston Martin, the company bore the names of the proprietors-- Bamford & Martin. The first venture of the company was to provide serviced for Singer, GWK, and Calthorpe vehicles. The partners grew restless for in their hearts what they really wanted was to create their own lines of powerful vehicles such desires has paved way for the birth of their first car named Aston Martin. This rare beauty was the handmade of Martin who fitted a four-cylinder Coventry Simplex engine to the chassis of a 1908 Isotta-Fraschini. To keep the exclusivity of their creation, the partners were also the manufacturer of the Aston Martin parts and Aston Martin accessories that were used on their first ever creation.
Unfortunately, World War I broke out and partners Martin and Bamford were called to defend their country. As hard as it was for them they sold all the machineries to the Sopwith Aviation Company. After the war, Bamford & Martin was re-founded unfortunately Bamford left in 1920 and handed over the company to Count Louis Zborowski. Under the new owner, new car designs that would carry the name of Aston-Martin were produced. To test the power of these new designed Aston-Martins, Bamford & Martin joined the 1922 Granch Grand Prix. As expected of Aston-Martin, the lineup has showcase remarkable speed and endurance setting new records at Brooklands. Two of the noteworthy cars ever made under Aston-Martin were the 16 valve twin cam engine also known as the Green Pea and the Razor Blade which was renamed as Halford Special. All the Aston Martin parts and Aston Martin accessories for these rides were solely manufactured by Aston Martin.
In 1924 despite the success that Aston-Martin is experiencing in the field it still ended up getting bankrupt. It was Lady Charnwood that saved Aston-Martin. To protect her interest in the company she placed her son John Benson on the board. Unfortunately, even with the new management the company still failed. Productions also stopped from the manufacture of Aston Martin parts up to every Aston Martin accessories. Production has ceased and has hampered the manufacture of Aston Martin car parts. After years of buyouts the brand finally ended up with Ford.
